About Jenks Bolts About Jenks Bolts

The Triumph Bonneville was launched in the autumn of 2000 to great acclaim; Jenks Bolts took delivery of one of the very first, on 13th January 2001.

First Bonnie

It was a great ride and brought back memories of youth, but there were some details that I felt needed improvement. The "Jenks' Bolts¨" product range grew out of my efforts to engineer a "quick release" way to fix the seat to the bike!

One-by-one more parts were developed the range grew. In early 2003 a Trophy 1200 was used, whilst changes were made to the Bonnie. Improved carburetion and a fairing together with the Corbin seat and Ikon rear shock absorbers made the Trophy redundant, so in early 2004 it left.

Jenks bikes

By the spring of 2004 It was felt possibilities for improving the Bonnie and in May, seduced by the additional torque and power of the Thruxton, the Bonnie was replaced with a new Thruxton: this opened up even more possibilities and resulted in more new products.

Jenks Thruxton

The Jenks' Bolts product range now includes Jenks' Bolts and selected accessories for the Bonneville, T100, Thruxton, Scrambler, Bonneville America, Speedmaster, Thunderbird Series and Trophy 1200.

The Engineering Background

The Jenks' Bolts range of high performance and restyling parts and accessories have been specifically developed for the new range of Triumph bikes. Our product range continues to expand to follow the success of Triumph's family of "twins": we have products for the new Bonneville Scrambler ready and waiting!

Almost everything you see on the website has been prototyped in our development workshop and then manufactured by local UK specialist machine shops that also produce parts for high technology industries including aerospace and Formula 1. All Jenks bolts products are designed for a long life, to look good, and to have a "quality" feel.

Our bolts are CNC turned or machined, mainly from billet H30TF aluminium alloy or 316 Stainless Steel and the guards and racks are fabricated from 316 stainless steel. All our products are finished for a perfect surface and then given a final treatment: satin black or clear hard anodised, bright nickel plate or chrome; all the finishes are specified to provide an attractive and corrosion resistant finish.

All "Jenks' Bolts" products have been developed and thoroughly tested on the Bonneville, Trophy or Thruxton before appearing in the catalogue.

Use of Jenks' Bolts

Fitting certain Jenks' Bolts Products to a motorcycle may contravene Construction and Use Regulations pertaining to the use of a motorcycle on the public highway. In such cases the Customer is responsible for ensuring that the motorcycle is used only for closed circuit competition or display purposes.
